Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has expressed his disappointment with the team’s performance following a 1-0 defeat to West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium.

The loss dealt a significant blow to the Gunners’ Premier League title hopes, allowing leaders Liverpool to potentially extend their lead to 11 points.

Softfootball notes that the match was decided by Jarrod Bowen’s first-half header, leaving Arsenal frustrated by their inability to convert chances despite having periods of possession.

Odegaard did not hold back in his assessment of the display, highlighting a lack of sharpness in the final third as a key issue for the home side. He stated:

Big blow. The performance wasn’t good enough. Really disappointed. I don’t know, we lacked a bit in final third efficiency. We have to see the game back and analyse it but it wasn’t good enough.

The Norwegian midfielder acknowledged the difficulties posed by missing players and a red card but insisted that the available squad had the quality to secure a victory. He added that finishing remains a critical area for improvement as they prepare for their next fixture against Nottingham Forest.
