Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri has been named the club’s Player of the Match following his outstanding performance in the Gunners’ 3-0 victory over Preston North End in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Arsenal confirmed the teenager’s award on their official X account on Thursday after another eye-catching display from the academy graduate.

Softfootball understands that Nwaneri’s latest performance further underlines his growing influence in Mikel Arteta’s squad, with the youngster continuing to seize every opportunity handed to him.

It was another memorable night in the Carabao Cup for the highly-rated midfielder, who also announced himself in the previous round by scoring twice in Arsenal’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers.

His rapid rise has also earned him valuable Premier League minutes, having featured in Arsenal’s recent 2-2 draw against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium, where he impressed with his composure and confidence despite his age.

With his performances attracting increasing praise from supporters and coaching staff alike, Nwaneri continues to strengthen his case for a more prominent role in Arsenal’s first-team plans this season.
