Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna believes his side have what it takes to surprise Arsenal when the two teams meet in Friday’s Premier League clash.
The newly promoted side will face a stern test against Mikel Arteta’s title challengers, but McKenna remains confident his players can produce a positive result if they maintain the right mentality throughout the contest. Softfootball reports the Ipswich boss stressed the importance of resilience, discipline and bravery while previewing the encounter.
Speaking to the club’s official website, McKenna said:
I think we need to show the right mentality, first of all, in the game. I think it’s a chance to show our togetherness, our spirit and our resilience.
The Northern Irishman also highlighted the mental and tactical discipline required to compete against one of the Premier League’s strongest sides.
We’re going to have to show a real mental strength. Our organisation is going to have to be really, really good and we’re going to have to show bravery at different moments in the game as well,
he added.
Ipswich will hope to build on recent performances as they seek one of the biggest results of their season against an Arsenal side chasing another crucial three points.
