Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has insisted he still has much more to offer after overcoming a difficult start to life at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The France captain endured criticism during the opening weeks of the La Liga campaign but has rediscovered his form in recent matches, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists in 16 league appearances.

Softfootball understands Mbappe believes his best performances are still ahead as he continues to adapt to his new surroundings.

Reflecting on his progress, the 26-year-old admitted recent setbacks have strengthened his determination. Via the club official website, Mbappe said:

I can do much more. I know that I have much more in my legs.

The striker revealed that missing a penalty against Athletic Bilbao proved to be a turning point in his season, saying:

In the last few games I have played better. The game against Bilbao did me good. I hit rock bottom, I missed a penalty and it is time to realise that I have to give my all for this shirt and play with personality.

Mbappe’s improved displays have coincided with Real Madrid’s strong run of results, and the former Paris Saint-Germain star is determined to continue raising his level as Los Blancos pursue domestic and European honours.
