Southampton manager Russell Martin believes Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu will be central to the club’s fight against relegation, with the forward now back from injury.
The Saints currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League table, having managed just a single win from their opening 15 matches this season.

Softfootball understands Martin confirmed Onuachu’s return to fitness ahead of this weekend’s clash with Tottenham. He said:
Jan Bednarek’s back, Paul Onuachu’s back, which is really good, and apart from that we’re all good.
Paul gives us a real alternative option that’s different from anyone in the squad and most people in the league, actually.
Martin also reflected on the unfortunate timing of Onuachu’s injury, given the impact he was beginning to have before being sidelined. He added:
He was really unfortunate at the timing of his injury as he was in such a good place and was going to really help us, I think, and now he’s going to help us moving forward.
