French Ligue 1 club Marseille have reportedly opened talks with Sevilla over a possible loan move for Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho.

The former Manchester City striker is expected to leave the Spanish club before the end of the January transfer window after struggling to establish himself since joining on a free transfer last summer.

Sevilla are reportedly open to allowing Iheanacho to leave either on loan or through a permanent transfer as the club looks to reshape its squad.

Softfootball reports that Iheanacho is expected to make a decision on his future before the winter transfer window closes.

The arrival of fellow Nigerian striker Jerome Akor Adams from Montpellier could also increase the likelihood of Iheanacho departing the club.

Iheanacho is believed to have several options available to him, but reports from France suggest that the 28-year-old is now considering a move to Marseille.

The Ligue 1 side have reportedly made contact with both Sevilla and the player’s representatives as they look to reach an agreement.
