Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is open to major wage cut for Juventus move

Softfootball can report that Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is willing to take a significant pay cut to join Juventus this summer. However, the Serie A club remain hesitant to meet his reduced demands.

The Manchester United winger, who earns over £300,000 a week at Old Trafford, is reportedly prepared to slash that figure by almost £200,000 to secure a permanent move to Turin. Despite his performance with Chelsea last season, Sancho has been unfortunate to attract high-flying deals from top European clubs.

According to the Daily Mail, Sancho is open to accepting an €8 million-a-year (£7m) deal, though Juventus are currently only willing to offer €6m plus performance-based bonuses.

Sancho, 25, spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Chelsea after a public fallout with former United manager Erik ten Hag. However, negotiations over a permanent transfer to Stamford Bridge broke down, with wage demands understood to be a major stumbling block.

United are seeking a fee in the region of £25m, but given the current financial standoff, another loan deal remains a possibility.

Juventus, who have held what were described as ‘positive’ early talks with the England international, are believed to be his preferred destination. Last week, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Juve floated the possibility of a swap deal involving Douglas Luiz, Dusan Vlahovic, and Timothy Weah.

Sancho was one of five players not present at Carrington on Monday as United’s preseason began under head coach Rúben Amorim. Sources indicated that the winger, along with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Andre Onana, was granted additional time off to explore transfer options following loan spells or uncertain futures.

The group will still have access to medical and rehabilitation facilities at Carrington, though they are not expected to rejoin full training before United depart for their US tour later this month.

As Sancho seeks to get a new club, Manchester United, as earlier reported by Softfootball, is open to getting a suitor for goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Manchester United’s search for a goalkeeper has led them to a standout performer from the Club World Cup who is available for a bargain fee this summer and can finally land Ruben Amorim a much-needed Andre Onana replacement.

The goalkeeper spot was a major issue for Man Utd as they endured a disastrous campaign overall, with both Onana and Altay Bayindir failing to cover themselves in glory. Indeed, for much of the summer so far, it’s been reported that Amorim has chased a new No. 1.
