Softfootball in their pre match analysis had studied Manchester United’s past records and predicted they were going to win but West Ham came with other plans tonight.

Manchester United shared the result of the match on their official X handle after the full time:

The match started well for Manchester United as they controlled much of the ball throughout the match, dominating possession and pushing forward with attacks at several points.

In the 25th minute, Bryan Mbeumo was very close to scoring but Alphonse Areola tipped his shot over the bar. Finally, their breakthrough came in the 58th minute when Diogo Dalot scored the first goal calmly with his right foot thereby putting Manchester United ahead.

It was a good performance which rewarded United’s consistency after missing the first goal. The breakthrough finally came in the 58th minute when Diogo Dalot calmly struck with his right foot, putting Manchester United ahead.

It was a good finish and rewarded United’s persistence in attack. West Ham responded with a goal too from Soungoutou Magassa later in the 83rd minute through a loose ball. It was a calm casual but important finish for West Ham.

The final minutes remained intense. Manchester United had chances from Bruno Fernandes but West Ham’s defence and goalkeeper held firm.

Crosses into the box were repeatedly intercepted, and the Hammers managed to clear danger under pressure. The final whistle blew on a 1–1 draw.

West Ham’s tie with Manchester United just provided a little relief but might not be enough to ease their disappointment from their recent 2-0 loss to Liverpool at home.

For United, the match showed they can dominate possession and create chances but also showed how a strong defense can frustrate them.
