Man United Star Hints at Betis Move After Great Form

Manchester United winger Antony has strongly suggested that he wants to stay at Real Betis beyond his loan spell after hitting top form since moving to Spain in January.

The Brazilian has been in electric form under Manuel Pellegrini, scoring three goals in just four appearances. His quick adaptation has fueled speculation that he could make his switch permanent.

As part of the current loan deal, Betis are covering at least 84% of Antony’s substantial £100,000-a-week wages. The Spanish club has already expressed interest in securing him long-term, while United are open to selling him to recover part of the £82 million they paid Ajax for him in 2022.

In a recent interview with Betis’ media team, Antony credited Spain’s weather and welcoming atmosphere for helping him rediscover his best self. “The most important thing is that I’ve found myself again,” he said. “I wake up every day with a smile.

Things go well when we are happy and content. In four games, I’ve scored three goals and provided an assist. I worked hard for this moment, both mentally and physically.”

Reflecting on his struggles at Manchester United, Antony admitted that he wasn’t getting enough game time but remained determined.

“I wasn’t playing much, but I kept working hard. I needed to feel happy again, and that’s the most important thing. The coach spoke to me, and I’m grateful for that,” he said.

Antony also revealed that former Betis players Ricardo Oliveira and Denilson reassured him about the club and its passionate fanbase before he made the move. “I had no doubts that coming here was the best decision for me,” he added.

Despite winning two trophies at United, Antony now feels at home in Spain. “I’ve had great moments in Manchester, but here I’ve found myself again. The people, the culture, and even the sun help a lot. I’m very happy here,” he concluded.

With Antony thriving in La Liga, all signs point to Betis pushing to keep him setting up a major decision for Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
