Manchester United will aim to snap their three-game winless streak as they visit Newcastle United in the Premier League this Sunday.

Ruben Amorim’s side were held to a second consecutive draw, with Andre Onana’s late blunder allowing Lyon to equalise in their Europa League quarter-final first leg.

United won’t have much recovery time, with their next fixture coming in just 48 hours at St James’ Park.

Amorim named the same XI that faced Manchester City in the draw with Lyon, but rotation is likely with the second leg looming at Old Trafford.

Joshua Zirkzee, who scored his second Europa League goal against Lyon, may replace Rasmus Hojlund up front after a quiet display from the Danish striker.

Mason Mount made his third straight substitute appearance as he eases back from injury. Kobbie Mainoo also came on late after a ten-game absence.

Luke Shaw remained on the bench as Amorim remains cautious over the defender’s return from ongoing injury struggles.

Chido Obi is back in contention after missing Thursday’s game due to registration issues.

Matthijs De Ligt and Toby Collyer are still sidelined with minor knocks and will be assessed closer to Sunday. Meanwhile, Ayden Heaven, Jonny Evans, and Amad Diallo may return before season’s end, though Lisandro Martinez is out long-term.

Newcastle could welcome back Alexander Isak, while Anthony Gordon remains doubtful.

“He’s trained the last couple days and feels fine,” assistant coach Jason Tindall said on Friday. “We’ll monitor him daily but expect him to be ready.”

Gordon, out with a hip injury since England’s win over Albania, trained on grass recently and will undergo a final assessment this weekend.

Predicted United Lineup:
Onana; Mazraoui, Maguire, Yoro; Dalot, Ugarte, Casemiro, Shaw; Fernandes, Garnacho; Zirkzee.
