Luis Diaz and Jackson score late goals as Bayern Munich secure comeback win over St. Pauli

Bayern Munich came from a goal down to beat St. Pauli 3-1 in the Match-Day 12 of the Bundesliga to maintain top spot, Softfootball reports.und

The Bavarians lost 3-1 to Arsenal in midweek in the UEFA Champions League and needed to return to winning ways but the match did not start as planned with the visitors taking the lead. Bayern fought back with goals in each half for a tough win at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich shared on their official X handle the outcome of the match with their fans. They posted:

It took the away side only six minutes to score against the Bundesliga champions as Captain, Kimmich was dispossessed deep inside his own half by Lage, who sends Andréas Hountondji racing in behind the Bayern defence. The forward keeps his cool in front of Manuel Neuer, firing low inside the near post to put St. Pauli ahead.

The striker got injured and was replaced in the 18th minute by Danel Sinani. The Bavarians almost equalized as youngster star, Karl’s shot hit the post as the away side survived.

Harry Kane also saw his shot go narrowly wide but Bayern Munich eventually got the equaliser as Raphaël Guerreiro connected a cut-back by Luis Diaz and finished with aplomb. The second half was all Bayern as they pressed for the winner.

Michael Olise, who started from the bench came on to lift the attack as the Bavarians dominated the match but St. Pauli stayed strong as they were determined to leave the Allianz Arena with a point. With the match looking like it was heading for a draw, Bayern Munich eventually finished with a Luis Diaz and Nicolas Jackson’s late goals to end the match 3-1. Bayern Munich remain top of the Bundesliga with 34 points while St. Pauli sit in 17th with just seven points after 12 matches.
