Luis Díaz addresses Barcelona talks, insists he is happy with Bayern decision

Luis Díaz has confirmed that there were negotiations with Barcelona over a potential move this summer but made clear he is “very happy” with his choice to join Bayern Munich, Softfootball reports.

The Colombian winger, who arrived in Bavaria toward the end of the transfer window for a four-year deal, has spoken about the failed move to Catalan giants.

As shared by Fabrizio Romano on his official X handle, he revealed that:

There have been talks with Barça, it’s true… which is normal in the transfer market. But I’m very happy to be at Bayern; it’s a great club. I’ve made an objective decision about my future.

Diaz had earlier made a move for Barcelona during the transfer window after the 27-year-old had seen that an option to get a spot at Liverpool was becoming slim.

However, the deal couldn’t materialise after Barca made their decision to go after Marcus Rashford on loan with an option to buy.

Bayern ultimately secured the deal, and Díaz has already made a notable impact on the German champions’ project. Since arriving in Munich, the Colombian winger has quickly established himself as a valuable asset under Vincent Kompany. He has scored three goals in his last three appearances, including one in Saturday’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Hamburger at the Allianz Arena.

As Diaz continues to build his career at Bayern, he hopes to extend his performance to an optimal level as he eyes winning a trophy with the Bavarians.
