Serie A side Lecce have opened talks to sign Nigerian winger Philip Otele from FC Basel, with discussions ongoing over the structure of the proposed transfer.
Softfootball gathered that Lecce and Basel are currently negotiating to reach a suitable financial agreement and determine the most appropriate deal formula. Basel’s preference is for a permanent transfer, while Lecce continue to evaluate the feasibility and cost of the move before making a final decision.
The 27‑year‑old Nigerian recently returned to Basel after spending last season on loan with Hamburger in Germany. Both clubs remain in contact as talks progress.
