Premier League leaders Arsenal needed a dramatic 94th-minute winner to edge past bottom-of-the-table Wolverhampton Wanderers, sealing a 2-1 victory that extended their winning run over Wolves to nine matches, Softfootball reports.
Fresh from an impressive 3-0 away win over Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League, the Gunners started on the front foot and immediately asserted control. Bukayo Saka was heavily involved early on, floating in a dangerous cross that Jurriën Timber headed over, before Declan Rice failed to make clean contact with another delivery from the right.

Wolves, still reeling from a painful 4-1 defeat to Manchester United last Monday, were largely pinned back but remained disciplined, throwing bodies in the way of Arsenal’s advances. João Gomes epitomised that resistance, bravely taking a boot to the face as the visitors attempted to slow the tempo. Despite Arsenal’s dominance, it was Wolves who registered the first shot on target midway through the half, with Hwang Hee-chan racing clear but firing straight at David Raya.
That moment was followed by a blow for the hosts as Ben White was forced off injured, briefly halting Arsenal’s momentum. However, the pressure soon resumed, with Jørgen Strand Larsen blocking a Saka effort before Gabriel Martinelli sent two shots wide and saw another deflected behind. Frustration was beginning to creep into the Emirates crowd as half-time approached, especially after Piero Hincapié produced a crucial block to deny Strand Larsen in stoppage time.

The pattern of play barely changed after the break. Arsenal dominated possession and territory, while Wolves were content to run down the clock whenever possible, drawing audible boos from the home supporters. Martinelli went close after skipping past Matt Doherty but curled his shot wide, before Arteta rang the changes just before the hour mark.
Chances continued to come and go, with Viktor Gyökeres and Mikel Merino both denied by last-ditch defending. Sam Johnstone was finally called into action after 65 minutes, producing two excellent saves to keep out Rice in quick succession. His luck ran out soon after, though, when he tipped Saka’s corner onto the post, only for the ball to bounce back off his body and over the line.

Arsenal pushed for a second to kill the game off, but missed opportunities from Martin Ødegaard, Gyökeres and Leandro Trossard left the door ajar. Wolves took full advantage in dramatic fashion, equalising in the 90th minute when Mateus Mané’s cross was powered home by Tolu Arokodare, sending the away end into raptures.
However, heartbreak followed almost immediately. Deep into stoppage time, Saka delivered once more from the right and Yerson Mosquera somehow headed into his own net, handing Arsenal a last-gasp winner and condemning Wolves to a 10th straight defeat.
After the game, Arsenal via its official X handle, shared the full time report, after a scary late closing to the game , the gunners came out victorious. They posted:

The late drama will help ease the pain of Arsenal’s recent home loss to Aston Villa, as they now make it back-to-back wins across all competitions. For Wolves, though, the nightmare continues as they remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.
