Late Devenny Header Earns Crystal Palace 2-2 Draw Against KuPS

Crystal Palace played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with KuPS in their final UEFA Conference League league-phase match at Selhurst Park. The game had plenty of action, VAR moments, and late pressure as both sides pushed for a result.

Softfootball reported that Palace started the game well despite the squad issues earlier outlined, with six players unavailable as they welcomed KuPS to Selhurst Park.They kept the ball early and controlled the pace. Their good start paid off in the fifth minute when Justin Devenny set up Christantus Uche, who calmly lifted the ball over the goalkeeper to give Palace the lead.

Palace stayed on top for much of the first half, moving the ball patiently and creating chances. Romain Esse and Uche both came close, but KuPS stayed in the game and slowly grew into the match.

The second half changed quickly. KuPS scored twice in a short spell through Piotr Parzyszek and Ibrahim Cissé, turning the game around and putting Palace under pressure. Palace were lucky not to go further behind when VAR ruled out another KuPS goal for offside.

The match swung again when KuPS were shown a red card, giving Palace a chance to push forward. The home side responded with more urgency and finally got their reward in the 76th minute. Tyrick Mitchell crossed from the left and Devenny headed in the equaliser.

Palace pushed for a winner late on, with Eddie Nketiah forcing a fine save, but KuPS held on for the draw.
