Giroud, speaking to BBC, congratulated Mbappé on breaking his record. This was Giroud’s message:

Congrats Kylian, you made it. I’m really happy for him. He deserves!

Mbappé, who has spoken openly about criticism in recent months, insisted he is fully focused on performing for France and not on silencing doubters. Speaking to the media, he said:

I’m not playing for revenge. If I wanted to silence all the critics, I have to play until I’m 80 years old.

I’m only focused on doing my best for my country. That’s it. Full focus on that.

With 58 goals, Mbappé now has more World Cup goals than Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Pelé, marking another historic milestone in his already extraordinary career.
