Manchester United manager, Michael Carrick has hailed midfielder Kobbie Mainoo as a fantastic player, Softfootball reports
The England international made his first start in the season and played for 90 minutes as Manchester United beat Manchester City 2-0 in the derby on Saturday afternoon.
According to football expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, he shared an interview of the Manchester United manager talking up Mainoo. Carrick said:
Kobbie Mainoo is a fantastic player, he has huge talent, he has huge ability. He has played in some unbelievable nig occasions and coped with it. I am looking forward to seeing him thrive.
In a recent interview, Carrick hinted that Mainoo will help in Manchester United’s midfield rebuild and true to his words the 20-year-old started in his first match in charge of the Red Devils.
After the win over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, Manchester United has moved into fifth on the premier league table with 34 points after 22 matches so far this season.
