Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are looking to edge out  Juventus in the race for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho’s signature.

According to the Sun, Fenerbahce have already agreed to Sancho’s wage demands, with Mourinho personally pushing to bring the Manchester United winger to Istanbul. The Turkish giants have wasted no time making their move and are now in direct talks with United over a potential deal.

However, Juventus aren’t backing down. The Italian heavyweights remain in the mix and are still negotiating with United, hoping to strike a deal of their own. The Red Devils are believed to be open to selling Sancho this summer and have set a €20 million price tag for the 25-year-old.

Sancho, 25, returned to United last month when Chelsea chose to pay a £5m penalty clause at the end of his loan agreement rather than the £25m to make the deal permanent.

It was the latest setback for the former Borussia Dortmund winger, who has struggled since making a £73m move to Old Trafford in 2021.

Sancho had an underwhelming loan spell in west London, scoring just five goals in 42 outings.

But one of those strikes came in Chelsea’s Conference League final win over Real Betis.

And Sancho also managed to help himself to 10 assists under Enzo Maresca.

A move to Juventus would see Sancho link up with fellow Englishman Lloyd Kelly.

Jose Mourinho has already made his feelings clear on Jadon Sancho amid reports linking the Manchester United forward to Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce is currently managed by ex-United boss Mourinho, who has already spoken about Sancho last year.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Mourinho said, “As a player, we know his talent. We saw what he can do. What happened at Man Utd, if I look to my own history, sometimes I fail with players.

“Sometimes I couldn’t create the right empathy, I couldn’t understand the player DNA and I couldn’t help players to grow up in the right direction. In the majority of times, yes, I did it, but on some occasions I couldn’t.”

Mourinho continued: “Sometimes we have to run with the experiences and try to understand the nature of the players. They have the talent but, they don’t have the mindset you want in a player so sure they will make mistakes but the manager was not able to get the best out of him.

“Normally it is multi-factorial. The manager, the player, the family, the agent, the club. Looking at myself as a coach, I did many times get the best out of players and help them to be what they are in the future.

“Even being multi-factorial we are part of it, and for us as coaches with more experiences many situations are deja vu. When we get older we try to help players to go in the right direction. In this case, they try to analyse what happened at Manchester United and what they found in him.”
