Former Arsenal winger Theo Walcott believes his old club need a striker with Alexander Isak’s qualities to strengthen their attack, while insisting the Swedish forward would improve almost any top team in Europe.
Softfootball understands that Walcott sees Isak as the type of complete centre-forward Arsenal have been missing in recent seasons, adding that the Newcastle United star possesses the qualities required to elevate elite teams.
The former England international also suggested that clubs beyond the Premier League would benefit from signing the prolific striker, pointing to Real Madrid as another side that could become more balanced with Isak leading the line.
Walcott believes Madrid’s collection of attacking superstars has not always produced the ideal balance, arguing that Isak’s movement, link-up play and finishing would help knit the team together more effectively.
The ex-Arsenal star also highlighted Isak’s versatility in front of goal, noting that the Sweden international is capable of scoring different types of goals while contributing significantly to his team’s overall attacking play.
Isak has continued to attract interest from several European heavyweights following his impressive performances for Newcastle United, where he has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most complete forwards.
