President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced Dikko’s appointment on Wednesday as Chairman of the reintroduced National Sports Commission, replacing the Federal Ministry of Sports Development.

Gusau noted that Dikko’s impressive résumé, which includes serving as Chairman of the Nigeria Professional Football League (now NPFL), Second Vice President of the NFF, FIFA Football Stakeholders Committee member and CAF committee official, makes him well-equipped for the task ahead.

The NFF president also reflected on their years of working together on the federation’s executive board, praising Dikko’s leadership qualities, innovative thinking and commitment to football development.

According to Gusau, the Nigeria Football Federation is prepared to work closely with the new NSC chairman to drive Nigerian football and sports to greater heights.

Dikko previously chaired several strategic committees within the NFF, including the Marketing and Sponsorship Committee, while also serving on CAF’s Inter-Clubs Committee. He remains a member of FIFA’s Football Stakeholders Committee, further underlining his vast experience in global football administration.
