Manchester City’s new defender Marc Guéhi is already causing a stir and not just on the pitch.
In a fun video shared by The Overlap on their X handle , a popular “stay quiet until you hear a better defender” challenge put Guéhi’s name front and centre.

The speaker, Luke, stayed silent as a long list of Premier League centre-backs were mentioned, including Jan Paul van Hecke, Joachim Andersen, Malick Thiaw, Odilon Kossounou, Ezri Konsa, Matthijs de Ligt, and Wesley Fofana.
The silence only broke when William Saliba’s name was called, with Luke simply replying, “Got,” tipping the Arsenal man as the one defender he rates above Guéhi.
The clip landed just as Guéhi enjoys a dream start at the Etihad. Pep Guardiola has been full of praise since completing the signing in the winter window, highlighting the England international’s composure and ability on the ball.
Guardiola described Guéhi’s profile as “perfect” for City’s system, and the defender has already stepped straight into the starting XI as they push for another Premier League title.
Before the move, Guéhi signed off from Crystal Palace in fairytale fashion.
