Pep Guardiola has dismissed reports linking Manchester City with a move for Viktor Gyökeres.
Softfootball understands that the City manager addressed the speculation during his pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Sporting CP.
Guardiola insisted the Premier League champions are already well equipped in attack with Erling Haaland leading the line, making it clear there are no immediate plans to pursue the Swedish striker.

Meanwhile, Sporting head coach Rúben Amorim admitted Gyökeres could leave the Portuguese club if the right offer arrives.
Amorim, who is set to take over at Manchester United, acknowledged that Sporting may find it difficult to keep hold of the prolific forward should a suitable bid be submitted.
Gyökeres has attracted widespread interest from several top European clubs following his outstanding performances for Sporting, where his goalscoring exploits have established him as one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.
