Galatasaray have confirmed that Victor Osimhen will be sidelined for a period of time after picking up a muscle injury during Sunday’s win over Sivasspor.

The Nigeria international scored the club’s second goal from the penalty spot in a 3-2 victory, but was forced off just 16 minutes from time and replaced by Victor Nelsson.

Softfootball understands the club has already begun treatment on the injury, though no firm timeline has been given for his return.

Osimhen has been in outstanding form for Galatasaray this season, registering seven goals and three assists in nine league appearances since his loan move from Napoli.

The club have yet to disclose the severity of the issue, leaving Okan Buruk to assess his attacking options in the striker’s absence over the coming weeks.

Galatasaray’s fixture list remains busy through the festive period, making the timing of the setback a notable concern for the club.
