Coventry City are on the verge of appointing Chelsea legend Frank Lampard as their new manager, with reports indicating that an agreement in principle has been reached between the two parties.

The Championship club currently sits seventeenth in the table following the sudden dismissal of Mark Robins, who was the longest serving manager in the English Football League before his exit. Lampard is reportedly keen to bring in his own backroom staff to support his vision for the team.
He beat out other candidates, including Ruud van Nistelrooy, who had also expressed interest in the position after his brief interim period at Manchester United concluded.
