France’s preparations for the World Cup qualifiers have been hit with fresh concerns after Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué both picked up injuries during Friday’s 2-0 match against Ukraine, Softfootball reports.
Dembélé was forced off in the first half after pulling up sharply, and subsequent medical checks have confirmed a serious injury to his right hamstring.
The Paris Saint-Germain winger is expected to be sidelined for approximately six weeks, ruling him out of France’s September and October international fixtures.

According to Fabrizio Romano on his X handle, he announced that Dembele and his compatriot will miss both club and international duties for France and PSG.

Désiré Doué suffers from a right calf injury and is set to be out of action for an estimated 4 weeks, the club announces via medical report.

For Didier Deschamps, the setback was significant, and it has made the gaffer call upon Kingsley Coman to fill the space left by Dembele.
France resumes their qualifying campaign next week, with Deschamps expected to rely on his remaining attacking talents to maintain momentum against Iceland.
