The 25-year-old has fulfilled a childhood dream that began when he wore the red shirt of Cristiano Ronaldo while playing in the streets. The Cameroon international did not shy away from that when he had the opportunity of speaking about it.

Mbeumo said:

“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams; the team whose shirt I wore growing up ”

Pace and Power

With Mbeumo in Ruben Amorim’s side, he can help turn defense into attack in quick fashion. He is strong like a rock and can’t be easily pushed away from the ball. He got control of his movement and doesn’t lose the ball easily which makes him very dangerous for opponents.

Goals & Assists

Last season, Mbeumo, 25, scored 20 Premier League goals, the fourth highest in the league, and registered a further eight assists. Since Brentford’s promotion to the top flight, Mbeumo has averaged an impressive 18 goal contributions per season.

Passing

Mbeumo is comfortable with the ball and plays it forward aggressively all the time. He is the time of player that would drag Manchester United forward.

Link-up plays

Mbeumo will surely link-up with the likes of Amad, Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandez to create magic.

Mbeumo is calm in possession and that helps him find teammates on the pitch easily. At Brentford, he was always threading killer passes to Ivan Toney and they worked well together before the England international made a surprise switch to Saudi Arabia.

A lot of people thought the goals would dry up as their main goalscorer had left but no one expected that Mbeumo would create even more magic with his solid new partnership with the Democratic Republic of Congo forward, Yoane Wissa. Interestingly, both joined Brentford about the same time in 2021 and have stayed loyal servants since then.

Mbeumo and Wissa scored 20 and 19 goals respectively for Brentford as they finished in 10th place and recorded the highest ever goals tally in their history last season.
