Former AC Milan defender Jan Carlo Simic is on the verge of joining Saudi Arabian side, Al Ittihad after verbal agreement was reached on a €20m deal, Softfootball reports.
The Serbian international is highly rated and tipped for a great future with European clubs monitoring his situation but his immediate destination will be in summer.

According to transfer football expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, the deal is set to be finalised. He revealed:
EXCL: Al Ittihad reach verbal agreement to sign Jan Carlo Simic as new centre back, here we go!
Formal steps to follow but 4 year deal agreed with former AC Milan defender and package close to €20m (add-ons included) to Anderlecht.
Al Ittihad has already secured the services of Soumaila Doumbia and wants him to partner Simic in the heart of defence.
The 20-year-old defender is a key target for the Saudi Arabian club as they look to add depth and long-term stability to their defensive line. Targeting players with high resale value instead of established players is also a new strategy for the club.
Negotiations between Anderlecht began last week as Al Ittihad want to move quickly and secure the player before Lazio, who had planned to make a push for Simic in the January 2026 window. Now, that they’ve reached verbal agreement, it remains for both clubs to sign transfer documents and arrange medical for the player.
The Serbian defender is a dream signing for the Saudi Arabian side and the club’s management are optimistic about completing the deal without any last minute surprises. Just like Eberechi Eze ‘s move to Arsenal after accepting Tottenham Hotspurs’ offer.
Simic’s current contract at Anderlecht is until 2029 but if he passes his medical, he will become Al Ittihad’s defender.
