Liam Rosenior has moved to reassure Chelsea FC fans over the future of Enzo Fernández, insisting the midfielder remains fully committed to the club.
Softfootball had previously reported that the Argentina international hinted he was unsure about remaining at Chelsea beyond the current season.
Despite being under contract until 2028 after a then-British record £107 million move in 2023, Fernández’s comments to ESPN Argentina suggested the remainder of the campaign, including Premier League fixtures and the FA Cup, could be his last.
In comments shared by Fabrizio Romano on his x handle, Rosenior described Fernández as both a “captain” and an “outstanding” player, dismissing speculation that the Argentine could be set to leave.
Romano posted:
Liam Rosenior reveals he spoke to Enzo Fernández about his quotes: “I had a great conversation with Enzo”. “He made it really, really clear to me how happy he is at this club”.

The Chelsea manager clarified that earlier remarks suggesting uncertainty over Fernández’s future had likely been misunderstood, especially following the club’s 3–0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Rosenior revealed he held detailed discussions with the 25-year-old on Thursday and has no concerns about his commitment.
The statement is expected to calm growing speculation, reaffirming Fernández’s importance to Chelsea as they navigate a challenging period this season.
