Fearless Teen Stuns Spurs in Arsenal Dramatic Win

Myles Lewis-Skelly showed no fear as he helped Arsenal secure a 2-1 victory over Tottenham in Wednesday’s exhilarating north London derby at the Emirates.

The 18-year-old made just his fourth Premier League start of the season, playing a vital role as the Gunners came from behind to win.

Tottenham took the lead through Son Heung-min, but Arsenal quickly leveled after a corner deflected off Dominic Solanke into the net. Leandro Trossard’s low strike put the Gunners ahead before halftime.

Playing at left-back, Lewis-Skelly faced off against Spurs’ dynamic wingers, Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson, who was introduced after the break.

Despite the challenge, the teenager remained fearless. When asked by Arsenal legend Ian Wright if he was intimidated by the opposition, Lewis-Skelly confidently responded, “Never afraid of no one. To be the best, you have to go against the best.”

Manager Mikel Arteta praised the young defender’s composure in such a high-stakes match. “It’s rare to see an 18-year-old play with that level of emotional control and maturity, especially against players like Kulusevski and Johnson,” Arteta said.

Aaron Ramsey, former Arsenal midfielder, also commended Lewis-Skelly’s performance. “His confidence was evident, and he was outstanding,” Ramsey said. “To go up against one of Tottenham’s best players and perform so well is impressive.”

Reflecting on the significance of such moments, Ramsey added, “Games like this are what you remember at the end of your career. Lewis-Skelly should cherish this moment because opportunities like this are rare.”
