Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has been named the Premier League’s Manager of the Month for December, marking his second such award in three months.

The Portuguese guided Forest to second place in the Premier League table for the first time since 1994, winning five of their six December fixtures while keeping three consecutive clean sheets to close out the month.

Softfootball notes this is now the sixth time in his career that Nuno has claimed the honour, putting him level with Sam Allardyce and Sir Bobby Robson on the all-time list.

He said:

I have to thank the players who go out there and give their all for this club. Ultimately, this is recognition for their performances.

We also have to thank everyone at the club and the support and ambition they show, starting with our owner, Mr Marinakis, all the way through to every member of staff.

And finally, we cannot thank our fans enough for their magnificent support.
