Jack Grealish couldn’t play as he was on loan from the Cityzens but cannot face his parents. However, the Toffees were solid in the first half as they held Manchester City to a goalless 45 minutes.
After a 15 minutes break, Pep Guardiola’s men came out strongly in the second and took a deserved lead through dangerman, Haaland, who connected a cross from Nico O’Reilly with a powerful header.
The big striker got his second goal, five minutes later as he received a cutback from Savinho and finished past with aplomb to make it 2-0. Haaland has now scored 23 goals in just 13 matches so far this season for club and country.
The win took Manchester City to second on the Premier League log with 16 points, just a point behind leaders Arsenal while Everton sit 10th with 11 points after eight matches so far.
