Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has admitted he may not be in charge of the team by the time AFCON 2027 kicks off, with his current contract set to expire in January 2027.

Negotiations between his agent and the NFF over a contract extension are still unresolved, with both parties yet to reach an agreement on the terms.

This development comes as, on Saturday, 30th May 2026, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Jamaica in the final of the 2026 Unity Cup.
