Eintracht Frankfurt Face Tough Test at Camp Nou Against Barcelona

3 Min Read

Barcelona are back in Champions League action on Tuesday night, hoping to fix things after that rough trip to Stamford Bridge, losing 3-0 to Chelsea in their last Champions League game, and honestly, the team never really found their rhythm.

The club posted a video of their players preparing for the game via their official X account.

Watch the video below:

Ronald Araujo’s red card in the 44th minute didn’t help at all, and Kounde’s early own goal made things worse. Second-half strikes from youngster Estevao and substitute Liam Delap turned it into a night Barça probably wants to forget.

Frankfurt hasn’t had it easy either, losing 3-0 to Atalanta, and they arrive in Spain with plenty to sort out.

Barcelona’s inconsistency in Europe has become a bit of a thing. They’ve won only one of their last four Champions League games, beating Olympiacos 6-1 but dropping points against PSG and Club Brugge, as reported by Softfootball.

With just seven points from five games, they sit 18th in the 36-team standings, pretty low for a team that finished second last season.

Back home, things look brighter. Barça have scored 11 goals in their last three matches at Camp Nou, including that crazy 5-3 win over Real Betis where Ferran Torres grabbed a hat trick and Roony Bardghji plus Lamine Yamal added goals too.

Team News

Barcelona will be missing Marc-André ter Stegen, Gavi, and Dani Olmo. Ronald Araujo remains on compassionate leave and was already suspended after the Chelsea red card, so Gerard Martin is likely to partner Pau Cubarsi at centre-back. Raphinha might come back into the lineup after just watching from the bench last time.

Flick also has a tricky choice upfront: keep Torres as the false nine or bring Lewandowski back into the team. Honestly, it could go either way.

Frankfurt has injury problems as well. Michy Batshuayi won’t play after his injury against Leipzig, and top scorer Jonathan Burkardt is still out after Atalanta. Can Uzun and Hugo Larsson are back in the squad and might get minutes, which is at least some kind of boost for them.

Possible Lineups

Barcelona: Garcia; Kounde, Martin, Cubarsi, Balde; De Jong, Pedri; Yamal, Fermin, Raphinha; Lewandowski

Eintracht Frankfurt: Zetterer; Kristensen, Koch, Brown, Theate; Dahoud, Chaibi; Götze, Doan, Bahoya; Knauff

Softfootball’s Prediction

Barcelona look more confident, sharper, and far more settled, especially at home, where they’ve barely put a foot wrong this season. Frankfurt’s defensive issues and injury problems make it a very difficult night for them, Barcelona should control this from early on.

Prediction: Barcelona 3–1 Eintracht Frankfurt
