Former Napoli striker German Denis believes Romelu Lukaku is a better fit than Victor Osimhen in Antonio Conte’s current Napoli system.

Osimhen, who is now on loan at Galatasaray, was one of Napoli’s most important players in recent seasons. However, Denis questioned whether the Super Eagles striker would have suited Conte’s tactical style as much as Lukaku does.

Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss, Denis praised Lukaku’s performance and described the Belgian forward as a player who gives a lot to the team.

We saw a Lukaku in form, even if Conte knows perfectly well what he lacks,

Denis said.

According to him, Lukaku has shown generosity in his play, not only as a striker but also as someone who helps create chances for others. Denis pointed out that Lukaku recently provided two assists while operating almost like an attacking midfielder.

He also praised Napoli’s squad depth, saying the team was built to win and that every player called upon has been able to contribute. Denis believes this will be important for Conte, especially because the manager can rely on quality options from the bench.

Napoli was built to win, the squad is large and whoever is called upon always does well,

he added.

Denis also highlighted Stanislav Lobotka, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Lukaku as players who give Napoli different attacking solutions.

Speaking on the comparison between Lukaku and Osimhen, Denis said Napoli made the right decision by going with the Belgian striker under Conte.

I don’t know if Osimhen would have been as suitable for Napoli as Lukaku is with Conte. Napoli made the right choice,

he said.

Meanwhile, questions continue to surround Osimhen’s future, with some wondering if it is time for him to leave Turkey and seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.

Away from football, Osimhen also recently showed his lighter side by revealing that he introduced one of his friends to Amala, a popular Nigerian meal, and that the friend now eats it regularly.
