Marten de Roon has etched his name into the history books of Atalanta BC after making his 436th appearance for the club, surpassing the long-standing record of Gianpaolo Bellini (435), Softfootball reports.
The milestone, as highlighted by Fabrizio Romano via his offficial X handle, cements De Roon’s legacy as one of the most loyal and influential players in the club’s history.
Romano revealed:
Marten de Roon makes history for Atalanta as player with most appearances ever. 436 games in black and blue.
Operating as a defensive midfielder, De Roon has contributed significantly with over 330 league appearances, helping the club secure regular qualification for the UEFA Champions League. Despite the successes, the team continues to chase domestic glory, with their last Coppa Italia title dating back to 1963, including a near miss in a recent final defeat to Juventus.
His impact was also evident in Atalanta’s historic 2024 UEFA Europa League triumph, a defining achievement in the club’s modern era.

Since arriving in 2015, the Dutch midfielder has embodied consistency and leadership, becoming a central figure in Atalanta’s evolution into a competitive force in Serie A and European football.
Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski’s future at Barcelona remains uncertain, with his contract nearing expiration in June 2026 and decisions expected soon.
