Como confident of completing Diego Carlos deal with Fenerbahçe today

Como are set to complete the signing of Brazilian defender, Diego Carlos before the transfer window closes, with the deal to be finalised once paperwork is approved today.

Softfootball understood that the  centre-back has attracted interest from several top European clubs this summer, but his attention is firmly on joining the Serie A side.

Diego Carlos joined Fenerbahçe from Aston Villa during the 2025 winter transfer window, despite having a contract with Fenerbahçe until 2028, he has only played 5 matches for the club. His playing time significantly decreased as the club  signed Milan Skriniar from PSG.

Earlier in the window, French side Lille made an approach to explore the conditions of a potential deal, although no agreement was reached at the time.

According to Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, it is reported that Fenerbahçe and the Italian club have reached an agreement on all terms, and the 32-year-old defender is expected to move to Italy once the official documents are signed. His post reads:

“Como are confident to get formal steps done today for Diego Carlos deal from Fenerbahçe.”

The move to Como, managed by Spanish coach Cesc Fabregas, is part of the club’s significant investment in their squad, with 104 million euros spent on transfers this summer.

Como, who have already secured Alvaro Morata from Galatasaray, are aiming to make a significant impact in Serie A this season.

In a related post, Softfootball reported on Friday that Fenerbahce has sacked Jose Mourinho after the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League
