Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze could be set for a temporary exit from AC Milan when the January transfer window opens as he continues to struggle for regular playing time under head coach Paulo Fonseca.

Softfootball added that the Rossoneri are weighing up their options regarding the Super Eagles winger, with both a loan move and a permanent transfer reportedly under consideration ahead of the second half of the season.

According to TMW, Chukwueze has found it difficult to establish himself as a regular starter since Fonseca took charge, prompting speculation over his future at the San Siro.

The report also claims that AC Milan are not ruling out selling the 25-year-old outright if a suitable offer arrives in January.

Chukwueze joined the Italian giants from La Liga side Villarreal in the summer of 2023 in a deal worth around €30 million after impressing during his time in Spain.

However, he has struggled to replicate that form in Italy, managing just one goal in 31 Serie A appearances for the seven-time European champions.

The winger is currently recovering after sustaining a thigh injury while on international duty with Nigeria, a setback that forced him to withdraw from the Super Eagles squad.
