Softfootball can confirm According to a post made on the official X handle of Chelsea Women, the club has confirmed that the first team will play home cup matches at Cherry Red Records Stadium from the start of the 2026/27 season under a new multi-year agreement with AFC Wimbledon.
A new venue for our home domestic cup and European league-phase fixtures from next season. 🆕
Stamford Bridge will remain the home for all WSL matches. 🏡
The announcement comes shortly after Chelsea Women shared emotional reactions from manager Sonia Bompastor and defender Niamh Charles following their victory over Manchester United Women, a match that marked the final appearances of club legends Sam Kerr and Millie Bright.

Meanwhile, on the men’s side, Chelsea have reportedly rejected several approaches for highly-rated defender Josh Acheampong, including interest from Premier League clubs, underlining the club’s desire to retain one of its brightest young talents.
Chelsea Women will continue to play all Women’s Super League home matches at Stamford Bridge, while domestic cup fixtures and any European league-phase matches they qualify for will be staged at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.
The club also confirmed that Stamford Bridge will remain the venue for knockout-stage matches in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, should the Blues progress to that stage.

Chelsea highlighted their long-standing relationship with AFC Wimbledon, having previously shared Kingsmeadow, and described the 9,000-capacity Cherry Red Records Stadium as a modern, accessible venue capable of supporting future growth in attendance.
Business Operations Director Nadia Shahrestani expressed her delight at the agreement, stating that the club wanted an alternative venue that is inclusive, convenient and fully compliant with competition regulations while creating memorable experiences for supporters.
