Chelsea have confirmed that highly-rated forward Jesse Derry has joined Portuguese champions Sporting Lisbon on loan for the 2026/27 season.
The 19-year-old will spend the campaign in Portugal as part of his development, with Chelsea set to closely monitor his progress throughout the season.

Derry recently signed a new long-term contract with Chelsea before completing the temporary move, underlining the club’s belief in his long-term potential.
Chelsea also continue reshaping their squad ahead of the new campaign. Softfootball understands the club are actively working on the departure of Alejandro Garnacho, with the Argentine winger valued at around €50 million.
The Blues are currently only willing to consider a permanent transfer for Garnacho, with several clubs monitoring his situation as Chelsea prepare for further changes during the summer transfer window.
