Softfootball celebrates Giuliano Simeone today, the 23-year-old Argentine forward who’s been slowly but surely stealing the spotlight in La Liga with Atlético Madrid.
Born in Rome while his dad, Diego Simeone, played for Lazio, he’s always had this giant shadow over him, but Giuliano’s been quietly making his own way.

Atlético Madrid celebrated the superstar via their official X account, sharing a video of his past amazing performance for the club.

Giuliano Simeone’s performance last season was a total game-changer. After coming back from a serious fibula injury he got during a preseason friendly in 2023, he returned with this energy as nothing could stop him.
In the 2024–25 season, he scored five goals and assisted eight more in 42 appearances, showing he’s more than just Diego’s kid. Diego recently stated that his relationship with his son does not affect their professionalism.

He opened his scoring for the senior team in a 2–0 win over Las Palmas on November 3, 2024, and made a real mark in the Champions League, scoring and assisting in a 4–1 win against RB Salzburg on January 29, 2025.
But honestly, it’s not just about goals. He leads Atlético with successful dribbles per 90 minutes and is second in big chances created. His technique, pressing, and ability to break defences apart have caught a lot of eyes.

Internationally, Giuliano made his Argentina debut in November 2024 and quickly made an impression. He scored his first senior goal in a 4–1 World Cup qualifier win over Brazil on March 25, 2025, showing he’s really a rising star.
At 23, Giuliano Simeone is all about resilience, talent, and building his own story. With Atlético until 2028 and also set to finalise a contract extension to 2030, momentum is on his side; honestly, the best chapters of his career probably haven’t even started yet.
