Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal’s growing injury list poses the biggest threat to their Premier League title ambitions this season.

The Gunners have been without several key players at different stages of the campaign, with Bukayo Saka the latest major casualty after suffering a hamstring injury that could keep him sidelined for more than two months.

Softfootball understands Carragher feels Mikel Arteta’s squad depth will be severely tested during the second half of the season.

Speaking about Arsenal’s title chances, Carragher said the increasing number of injuries has become a major concern.

Arsenal’s biggest problem right now is their injuries. They managed to avoid too much disruption in the last two years but their squad has been stretched this time.

The former Liverpool defender pointed to the absences of influential players, including Takehiro Tomiyasu and captain Martin Ødegaard, as evidence of the challenges Arsenal have faced throughout the campaign.

Despite those setbacks, Carragher remains confident Arteta has the ability to keep Arsenal in the title race if they can stay within touching distance of the leaders.

Mikel Arteta will find the answers to ensure the team improves in the second half of the season, and they have built valuable experience of a run-in. If they can get to March still close, they will believe.
