Carlo Ancelotti has addressed the growing debate surrounding Neymar’s place in Brazil’s World Cup plans, making it clear that no decision has been finalized, Softfootball reports.
The comments come shortly after Neymar was left out of Brazil’s latest squad due to fitness concerns. Ancelotti had earlier explained that the forward is not yet at full condition but could still be considered for the 2026 FIFA World Cup if he regains peak form in time.
The omission sparked reaction from Neymar, who admitted he was “upset and sad” to miss out but remains determined to fight for a return to the national team.
Speaking in comments confirmed by Fabrizio Romano via his x handle, the Brazil national football team head coach stated that he is closely monitoring the situation but will ultimately make the final call himself.

Fabrizio posted:
Carlo Ancelotti on Neymar Jr at the World Cup: “I see everything, I hear everything… then I will have to make a decision”. “People can say their opinion, no problem”.
Ancelotti noted that while opinions from fans and pundits are welcome, the responsibility lies with him.
With the World Cup approaching, Neymar’s fitness and form will now be under intense scrutiny, as Ancelotti weighs his options for one of Brazil’s most high-profile players.
