Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has confirmed that Victor Osimhen will miss the club’s Europa League clash against Malmo, with the Nigeria international still recovering from a muscle injury.

Osimhen picked up the issue during Sunday’s Turkish Super Lig fixture at Sivasspor, and the club has yet to set a firm timeline for his return to action.

Softfootball gathers that Buruk addressed the striker’s absence, along with other injury concerns, in comments to Fotbollskanalen ahead of kickoff. He said:

We have few wingers and two important strikers missing. We have other strong players and a strong starting lineup.

Buruk expressed confidence that his squad has the depth to cope in Osimhen’s absence, adding:

But I know that the other players will do everything they can for the team.

Galatasaray will be hoping their depth proves sufficient as they continue their European campaign without one of their most influential attacking options.
