Softfootball understands that Marcos Senesi is nearing the final months of his Bournemouth contract, and interest around his situation is starting to build. With no agreement yet on an extension, attention around the Argentine defender has started to grow.
Clubs across Europe are monitoring the situation closely, aware that his contract status could open the door to a move. Barcelona and Juventus are watching closely, as reported by Fabrizio Romano via his official X account.

He said:
Juventus and Barcelona are among clubs monitoring Marcos Senesi’s situation. He’s out of contract in June 2026 and could leave Bournemouth this year.
From January 1, 2026, he’ll be allowed to talk freely with clubs outside England about a pre-contract deal. Once that door opens, things usually move fast. Or at least faster than clubs would like.
Barcelona see Senesi as the kind of opportunity they can’t really ignore. A left-footed centre-back who can play out from the back fits neatly into what Hansi Flick wants to build. Barça have already made contact, asked the right questions, and stayed close to the player’s camp.

Juventus are thinking along similar lines. They’ve been scanning the market for experienced players who don’t wreck the wage structure, and Senesi checks plenty of boxes.
AC Milan and Roma have also been linked, though Roma’s financial situation earlier this year raised a few doubts. Juventus, for now, looks the most comfortable if it turns into a straight numbers game.
Injuries did disrupt Senesi’s rhythm last season, costing him around four months during the 2024/25 campaign. Still, he’s worked his way back.

This season, he’s made 16 Premier League appearances and somehow picked up three assists along the way, including one assist in Bournemouth’s 1-0 victory against Tottenham.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, are bracing themselves. Antoine Semenyo could also leave, with reports linking him to Manchester City, with a £65m clause making January tricky. Manager Andoni Iraola has said he wants Senesi to stay, and maybe talks aren’t fully dead. But players think about careers too, not just contracts.

After losing Huijsen, Kerkez and Zabarnyi for big money last summer, Senesi is the last from that old backline. Selling in January brings cash. Waiting risks losing him for nothing.
