Borussia Dortmund through their official X account have officially confirmed that highly rated defender Luca Reggiani has signed his first professional contract with the club, keeping him at Signal Iduna Park until 2030.
This move follows Dortmund’s recent acquisition of Brazilian full-back Kauã Prates, who signed a contract until 2031 as part of the club’s continued investment in youth development.
They announced:
From prospect to pro. Borussia Dortmund have signed Luca Reggiani to his first professional contract, tying the Italian U19 international down to a long-term deal!
Softfootball understands that Reggiani’s promotion to the senior setup reflects Dortmund’s long-standing philosophy of nurturing young players and integrating them into the first team. The announcement, accompanied by the traditional jersey presentation photo, signals the club’s confidence in his long-term potential.

Reggiani, the 18-year-old Italian centre-back joined Dortmund from US Sassuolo’s academy in February 2024 and has since developed rapidly within the club’s youth system. A consistent performer for the U19 side, Reggiani has also earned recognition at international level with Italy’s youth teams, underlining his growing reputation as a promising defensive talent.
However, club captain Emre Can has received an encouraging update after undergoing ACL surgery, with Dortmund sharing a positive recovery image as he begins his rehabilitation journey.
