Boavista have rejected Trabzonspor’s opening bid for Nigerian defender Bruno Onyemaechi as they look to secure a higher transfer fee before considering any sale.
The Turkish club submitted an offer worth €2.5 million for the left-back, but the Portuguese side values the player more highly following his impressive performances this season.
Trabzonspor have identified Onyemaechi as a replacement for Eren Elmali, who is expected to complete a move to Galatasaray. Softfootball gathers Boavista are demanding closer to €3 million before they are willing to negotiate the transfer of the 25-year-old defender during the January transfer window.

Onyemaechi initially joined Boavista on loan from Feirense before making the move permanent the following season. His consistent displays have made him one of the club’s standout performers and increased interest from clubs looking to strengthen their defensive options.
The Nigeria international was recently voted Boavista’s Player of the Month for December, further highlighting his importance to the team. Trabzonspor are expected to decide whether to improve their offer as negotiations continue between both clubs.
