Portuguese club Boavista are reportedly demanding €6 million for Nigerian defender Bruno Onyemaechi as Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor step up their pursuit of the versatile left-back ahead of the January transfer window.

Onyemaechi has emerged as one of Boavista’s standout performers since initially joining the club on loan during the 2022/23 season before completing a permanent move a year later.

Softfootball understands Trabzonspor have already expressed strong interest in signing the Super Eagles defender, who is believed to be open to embarking on a new challenge in Turkey.

The 25-year-old has 18 months remaining on his current contract and has enjoyed an impressive campaign, contributing two goals and one assist in 15 league appearances. His consistent performances also earned him a place in Nigeria’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

Trabzonspor are keen to strengthen their defensive options during the winter transfer window, with Onyemaechi identified as a key target. However, Boavista are expected to stand firm on their €6 million valuation before considering any offer.
