Besiktas have reached a club-to-club agreement with Arsenal for the signing of Leandro Trossard in a deal worth €18 million plus a further €2 million in add-ons.

Softfootball understands that representatives of the Turkish club are set to travel to the United States to discuss personal terms with the Belgian international, who is expected to make a final decision on his future after the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The development marks a significant turnaround from Arsenal’s previous stance. Last year, reports had it that the Gunners had no intention of selling Trossard despite growing interest from Besiktas.

Arsenal also rejected a late £22 million bid from the Turkish giants shortly after the UK summer transfer window closed, insisting the winger remained an important part of Mikel Arteta’s plans. Negotiations have now progressed, with both clubs reaching an agreement that could see Trossard begin a new chapter in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Belgian forward played an important role in Arsenal’s Premier League title-winning campaign, contributing crucial goals, assists, and experience throughout the season.

His potential departure has generated mixed reactions, with some supporters praising his service to the club while others question the timing of the move.

Attention now turns to discussions with the player, as Besiktas look to complete one of the biggest signings of their summer transfer window.
