Softfootball understands that after Real Madrid’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night, Jude Bellingham once again found himself in the middle of a heavy wave of criticism.

Bellingham, after the game, gave a calm, casual response to this criticism. He admitted that the talk around him, especially coming from England, has been loud, but he didn’t seem even slightly rattled by it. As reported by sport expert Fabrizio Romano via his official X account.

He said:

Jude Bellingham tells TNT: Noise in England? This is life. It’s what I signed up for. I play for the biggest club in the world. I’m living the dream. Many people want to be in the position that I’m in, it comes with a few people that are negative.

He also pointed out that playing for Real Madrid, which he called the biggest club in the world, naturally puts you under a brighter spotlight, and representing a country like England multiplies that pressure.

Jude Bellingham delivered a sharp assist for Rodrygo’s goal against Manchester City, but he also missed a couple of chances that could have turned the game around for Real Madrid.

He has scored only five goals in 17 matches this season, and since he hasn’t found the net as often as he did last season, the criticism naturally got louder again. But Bellingham didn’t go for excuses.

The Real Madrid midfielder stated that many people want to be in the position of playing for a team like Madrid. He added that he’s living the dream, even on the harder days, and doesn’t have an interest in asking for sympathy.

However, inside Madrid’s camp, the coaches and teammates still highlight how much he contributes, his work rate, his ability to link play, and how he drives games even when the goals aren’t dropping as much.

Bellingham and Real Madrid now turn their focus to Alavés. Next in La Liga, hoping to bounce back from that disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Celta Vigo in their last La Liga game and also close the four-point gap behind Barcelona.
