Softfootball can confirm that FC Bayern Munich are working to extend the contract of Harry Kane beyond 2027, as the club aims to solidify his place as a cornerstone of their long-term sporting project.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his official x handle, Bayern’s hierarchy are eager to progress discussions following the renewal of Dayot Upamecano.

Romano stated:

Bayern are insisting to get new deal done for Harry Kane as next one after Dayot Upamecano. Bayern want Kane to stay and continue being key part of the project, talks on to understand financial/personal factors.

Negotiations are already underway, with financial and personal terms now being examined between the club and the striker’s representatives.

Since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur F.C. in the summer of 2023, Kane has established himself as a central figure in Munich. He is enjoying a phenomenal campaign, registering 50 decisive contributions across all competitions, including 30 league goals in just 24 matches.

This development follows confirmation that Lennart Karl has signed a new Bayern contract until June 2029, effective upon turning 18, with further discussions already in place over an extended deal that would include improved financial terms.

Bayern view the England captain as indispensable and are not contemplating a separation. Talks with his entourage are ongoing as the Bavarians seek a full agreement that reflects both his importance and their ambitions.

While FC Barcelona reportedly admire Kane as a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski, a departure appears highly unlikely given Bayern’s competitive momentum and the striker’s current form.

Elsewhere, Inter Miami CF produced a dramatic turnaround to defeat Orlando City SC 4-2 away on Matchday 2 of the MLS season. After an opening 3-0 loss to Los Angeles, Inter Miami responded emphatically in the Florida derby.

Lionel Messi once again proved decisive, scoring twice and providing an assist as his side roared back from two goals down to secure an emphatic victory at Inter & Co Stadium.
